Downsizing – The New Chapter
Having started designing with this family over 30 years ago, with the matriarch in Hobbs, the daughter when recently married contacted Patti to do her first home. Subsequently moving to Minnesota, she retained Patti again to assemble their new home up there.
Fast forward two beautiful babies grown to highly successful young adulthood and moving away from home left this couple in way too big a home, way too far away. They made several trips to New Mexico scouting locations for a new chapter. Locating the perfect lot in the perfect area, they designed and built this home from scratch.
They invited Patti to participate from the very beginning to plan furniture placement, finishes, lighting selections, and all decorative elements. The process involved making decisions about existing furniture, what to save and with what they needed to part, what to refinish or reupholster, what to purchase new or have custom fabricated.
The evolution was fun and exciting. The finished product reflects thoughtful attention to detail and coordination of all colors and finishes, function and general enjoyment. The before and after will illustrate some of this process.
Perfect for entertaining, this new residence has hosted many fabulous parties since they settled in and promises many more in the years to come.
