Custom Art Dresses Curved Headboard
Graceful arches of curved headboards provide attractive backdrops at the head of a bed, but also a challenge of how to dress the head wall behind them. Particularly important is the height of the wall in relation to the height of the headboard and the space in between. This detail regarding the relationship between the height of the headboard and the height of the ceiling applies to all manner of headboards.
Here, we have an upholstered headboard, in a new condominium complex in Phoenix, detailed with brass tacks. A soft neutral fabric against a neutral wall. The blue and white classic theme of bed dressings and flanking nightstand lamps set the scene.
We commissioned an Albuquerque artist, Alane Foug, to paint a series of miniature acrylics on canvas to follow the contour of the headboard and splash a bit of pinks and greens into the blue and cream scene. Complimenting the lines of the curve, this grouping makes an interesting, personal, custom treatment for this elegant tableau.
