A new location for a transitioning law firm in the southern portion of the state was ready to make a statement in Albuquerque. The firm’s brand had a golden butterscotch pantone color in its tag line and we played off of that to create a strong, subliminal continuation of the brand via color throughout the interior.
The intent was to celebrate Albuquerque and the immediate region. We gathered artwork from local photographers and had the images enlarged and mounted on aluminum panels projecting from the walls. In addition, local pueblo pottery from Acoma and Laguna adds interest and detail with its black and white punctuation of patterns.
Two conference rooms, one grand and the other smaller and secondary utilizing an existing table and chairs, continue the theme. The large conference room with its spectacular new butterscotch leather chairs surrounding a sparkling slab of black galaxy granite (18 feet by 4 feet six inches) that we custom designed and had locally fabricated. The handsome steel base comprising three large scale drums powder-coated in black, also by a local artist, contributes to an impressive statement of success, confidence, and influence – the key words the firm wanted to impart to their clients.
Also in the conference rooms are two custom designed and locally fabricated solid wood credenzas of black painted oak.
We inherited a new (but inappropriate) tenant-improvement vinyl plank flooring, which we immediately changed to handsome 24″ square rich, dark porcelain tile. New signage branded the space.
A leather sofa that had been with this law firm for decades was prime for a facelift. Rather than replace it to furnish their new reception room, we reupholstered it, accented it with custom designed pillows and surrounded it with artwork, all of which, including a glass dish – all are specifically created, by local artists.
Treasure hunting for other pieces included a pair of chairs, accent table, end tables, and a coffee table – all transformed into impressive new pieces to complement the scene.
This continues to be an ongoing project as we add more art, rugs and other decorative accessories while the firm brings on new attorneys and staff members to office in this new branch.
